Mole Rally — Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-07-17
Mole Rally is a live networking game: hosts create a room, guests join from their phones, and players exchange verified introductions to fill a bingo-style board. This page explains what information the application collects, why, and how you can control it.
This describes the data practices of the Mole Rally application specifically. It is written in plain language for players and event hosts, not as a substitute for formal legal advice.
What we collect
- To build your Mole Card: the name, role/title, company, email address, and card color you enter when you join a rally.
- To identify your device: an anonymous session identifier created automatically when you open the app. No password is required and no account is created unless you choose to sign in with Google.
- If you sign in with Google (available to hosts, and optionally to players recovering a previous Mole Card): your Google account name, email address, and profile picture, as provided by Google's sign-in flow. We never see or store your Google password.
- Game activity: which squares you've stamped, the room you joined, and the verified introductions ("meetings") between you and other players in that room. A meeting is only recorded when both people actively exchange a QR code or pass code — nothing is inferred or estimated.
- Camera access is used only to scan another player's QR code during a meeting. Scanning happens entirely on your device; no photo or video is ever uploaded or stored.
- Host actions: if you're an approved host, we record room settings, broadcast messages you send to a room, and your host/owner approval status.
Why we collect it
- To run the game: server-side validation of stamps, duplicate protection, and the live leaderboard.
- To let you exchange contact details with people you actually meet at the event, and to let you export that list (copy, CSV, or vCard) afterward.
- To let a host run and monitor their event, and to generate the post-event session report.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We don't track you across other websites or apps.
- We don't collect precise location data.
- We never store payment or financial information — Mole Rally doesn't process payments.
Who your information is shared with
Only with other players in the same room, and only for people you actually verify a meeting with — a stranger you haven't met cannot see your card details through normal use of the app. Your public Mole Card (shareable by link or QR) shows your name, role, and company; your email is not included on the public card.
Your data is processed and stored using Supabase (database and authentication) and served by Cloudflare (application hosting). Sign-in with Google is provided directly by Google under Google's own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Room and game data is kept so hosts can review past sessions and so you can access your Mole Card and contact history after an event. If you'd like your data deleted, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it.
Your choices
- You can play without a Google account — anonymous play only requires a name and email for your Mole Card.
- You can export or delete your contact list at any time from the results screen.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.
Children's privacy
Mole Rally is intended for use at adult professional and community networking events and is not directed at children.
